Current Border Environment Projects and Activities:

  1. Classification of waste water and solids for Colorado River Irrigation District #14. Joint project with IMTA.
  2. Assessment of certification, training, and technical assistance needs for water operations personnel in the state of Baja California. Joint project with Mexico - U.S. Foundation for Science (FUMEC - Fundación México-Estados Unidos para la Ciencia).
  3. Development of a training center for water and sanitation operations personnel in Baja California. Joint project with Mexico - U.S. Foundation for Science (FUMEC - Fundación México-Estados Unidos para la Ciencia).
  4. Development of a system to provide certification, training and technical assistance to water and sanitation operators in Baja California.

Past Border Environment Projects and Activities:

  1. Carried out a regional development project for Baja California which included data and statistics on the environment and environmental pollution. Project carried out in conjunction with the government of Baja California.
  2. Classification of waste water from maquiladoras
  3. Classification of underground water in Colorado River Irrigation District #14. Projects carried out with IMTA.

Future Border Environment Projects and Activities:

  1. Air monitoring studies in Mexicali, Baja California
  2. Classification of waste water from the maquiladora export industry, classified according to type of industrial activity.
  3. Provide support for companies in implementing Environmental Quality system ISO 14000.

Currently working with the Mexico - U.S. Foundation for Science (FUMEC - Fundación México-Estados Unidos para la Ciencia) in developing diagnostic studies that may feed into further research and study of matters relating to environmental issues.
