About Descriptions

The inventory entries include the following information in this order:

• A brief description of the organization
• A technical rating of the site (see below) or a brief description of the site
• Pertinent links to border-related datasets/qualitative information

The technical ratings are based on the following definitions:

"Technical"

A site that presents data in tables with technical terms, without an explanation of the terms used.


"Semitechnical"

A site that presents data in tables with technical terms, but has a section that explains the terms.


"Nontechnical"

A site that presents data in graphs and/or tables that simplify or summarize technical data or a site that contains easily understood qualitative data.
